Every "Leader for Local Control" believes in principle that local elected officials should be allowed to determine their own budgets and expenditures without artificial constraints by state legislation. We all agree that the constraint on property tax growth of 3.5% for a city is already too restrictive and that we are against any move to reduce that further. We are additionally against any artificial revenue caps that do not consider inflation measures (like CPI/PPI), Public Safety needs or Transit Membership and the associated costs.
